Booking Info

To Book by Phone: Please call us at 252-255-2248 for booking. If you get voicemail, we are booking someone else and will call you back as soon as we can. Please leave a message including the following: your name, phone number including area code, and the date you want to catch fish! We will check availability before returning your call.

Charter Size

The Hoo Dini is USCG licensed and insured for up to 6 passengers. Have a group less than 6? Book a trip anyway! We’ll put together a “makeup”. We “makeup” a full charter with others just like you. Anglers of all ages are welcome.

Booking Rates/Payment

  • Full Day Offshore - Cash discounted price = $1550
  • Full day Striper(Rock) - Cash discounted price = $900
  • Half day Striper (Rock) - Cash discounted price = $600

Custom Trips include overnight and weekend trips. Call for pricing.

Payments are accepted by cash, travelers checks, VISA, or MasterCard.

Cash payments eliminate our 3% credit card processing fee. We pass the savings on to you.

Deposits/Refunds

A minimum deposit of $350 is required to secure your trip date.

Trips may be cancelled at the Captain’s discretion due to rough sea conditions.

Should the Captain cancel your trip, you may choose to reschedule your trip or receive your deposit refund by mail. Cancellations within three weeks prior to the trip or failure to show by the party may be refunded at the Owners discretion.

Tipping

The Mate works for tips. The general rule of thumb is to tip like you would in a restaurant, 15% to 20% of the charter fee, based on the Mate’s performance.

An exceptional day may warrant a tip for the Captain.

The Big Day - What to Bring

  • Boat or Athletic shoes are required in the cockpit-No dark soles PLEASE
  • Food and Snacks-Microwave available (The Captain and Mate offer taste testing!)
  • Beverages-pack a small cooler, be sure to include plenty of water
  • Adults of legal drinking age are welcome to drink responsibly and in moderation
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses (polarized enable you to see into the water better)
  • Camera - be sure to put in fresh batteries and bring plenty of film
  • CDs of your favorite music
  • VHS tape or DVD of your favorite movies - especially if bringing younger children
  • Jacket, Towel or Blanket - the air conditioner really works
  • Seasick medications - if prone to seasickness, it is recommended to take it the night before and the morning of your trip
  • Cooler to take fish home (you can leave it in your car until the end of the day) - ice is available at the ships store

Arrival / Departure / Return Times

  • Offshore - Please arrive at the boat by 5:00 AM. We depart by 5:15. We generally return to the dock between 4:30 and 5:30 PM.
  • Half Day and Full Day Striper(Rock)-arranged per charter with the Captain

Fish Cleaning Service

A fish cleaning service is available at the marina - Ice and Styrofoam coolers are available at the Ships Store.

Ships Store

The Ships Store stocks snack foods, sandwiches, drinks, ice, sunscreen, seasick medication, coolers, tackle, beer, clothing, and other fishing related accessories.

NOTE: North Carolina Law prohibits the sale of alcohol before 6:00 AM daily and 12 Noon on Sunday

Captain Pat Hamby gives you your fishing options based on what has been biting and the weather. He has a full array of modern electronics to help locate fish.

The mate matches the tackle to the fish for maximum opportunity and coaches you through each catch.

You can be as involved as you want to be throughout the trip. If you just want to catch fish, just sit back and enjoy the comforts of the salon while awaiting your turn in the fighting chair. If you want to really get a full day’s worth, ask the mate how to get involved. He’ll guide you.

Hoo Dini Sportfishing Charters strictly adheres to size and creel limits for all species.

    • Directions from the Northern Beaches (Corolla, Duck, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, North Nags Head)

    - Hwy. 158 By-pass South to intersection of Hwy. 12 and Hwy. 64. - Stay right on Hwy. 64W, toward Manteo.
    - Approx. 1 mile - cross over high-rise bridge.
    - Approx. 1 mile past bridge - turn left on SR 345 toward Wanchese.
    - 4 miles - turn left on Harbor Rd., into Wanchese Seafood Industrial Park.
    - Approx. ½ mile - turn right at stop sign.
    - 200 yards - turn right just beyond big white building.
    - Loading zone, at dock, straight ahead.
    - Hoo Dini, straight ahead down dock ramp.
    - Ship’s store, down dock to the right.
    - Parking available adjacent to big white building.

    Directions from Hatteras and South Nags Head

    - Hwy. 12 North to intersection of Hwy. 12 and Hwy. 64. Left on Hwy. 64W, toward Manteo.
    - Approx. 1 mile - cross over high-rise bridge.
    - Approx. 1 mile past bridge - turn left on SR 345 toward Wanchese.
    - 4 miles - turn left on Harbor Rd., into Wanchese Seafood Industrial Park.
    - Approx. ½ mile - turn right at stop sign.
    - 200 yards - turn right just beyond big white building.
    - Loading zone, at dock, straight ahead.
    - Hoo Dini, straight ahead down dock ramp.

    Directions from Hwy 64 - Points West

    - Hwy. 64 East toward Manteo. Cross Virginia Dare Memorial bridge.
    - Approx. 1/4 mile – first traffic light – turn right on SR 345 toward Wanchese.
    - 4 miles - turn left on Harbor Rd., into Wanchese Seafood Industrial Park.
    - Approx. ½ mile - turn right at stop sign.
    - 200 yards - turn right just beyond big white building.
    - Loading zone, at dock, straight ahead.
